Beginning Blends Printable

Beginning Blends
Working on blending consonants at the beginning of words

I wanted to incorporate some actual learning into our theme this week, so I made a transportation-themed printable. This one focuses on blended letters that come at the beginning of words. For instance, as shown above, FL ~ flower. My goal was to put a consonant blend in front of Lorelai and have her sound it out/blend it together, then come up with a word that starts with that blend. She did it! I laminated this (thanks to M finding my laminating sheets!) and used a dry-erase marker so that we could use it more than once.

List of most common blends: bl, br, ch, cl, cr, dr, fl, fr, gl, gr, fr, pl, pr, sc, scr, sh, sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, spl, squ, st, str, sw, th,thr, tr, tw, wh
