Simple Baby Owl Craft

November 16, 2011 by Kimberly 3 Comments

Baby Owl

Isn’t she cute? I was cleaning out the craft bookshelf yesterday and Lorelai asked to make an owl. We hadn’t done a craft all weekend so we were definitely due! She made that adorable little owl and then went on to do a bunch of free-crafting with various materials; construction paper, glue, glitter glue, pom poms, beads, etc. I didn’t get a picture of any of those because I literally had craft stuff, old papers, crafts, etc. stretched across my entire living room floor. And don’t get me STARTED on the feather “dust”. I think feathers are up there next to glitter on my material shit-list, LOL!

Anyway, as said in the title, this baby owl is so, so simple to make. Lorelai did everything but draw the glue outline!

Materials We Used:

  • Cardstock (background)
  • Feathers
  • Glue
  • Orange construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors

Directions: Draw an outline of an owl (essentially an egg shape with two triangles off of the sides for wings) on the sheet of construction paper and fill it with glue. Allow your child to put down feathers. Glue on googly eyes. Cut out three triangles from construction paper and glue down as the beak and feet. See? So simple!
