Shamrock Garland

Shamrock Garland painted and strung.

I wanted to make a little decoration to hang along the little window between the kitchen and living room that houses our fish tank and other miscellanea. Since St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, shamrocks seemed like the perfect thing. Lorelai got in on the action and painted both side of each shamrock and then proceeded to jump on my back while I was stringing them. I think it turned out pretty cute. 🙂 I made this into a printable as well, in case anyone wants to make one & doesn’t have the tools… Also, it’s simple enough to draw shamrocks if you don’t have a printer!

Open Shamrock Garland Printable

Materials We Used:

  • 1 Piece of Cardstock (to print the printable onto)
  • Green Paint & Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • String to hang the garland.
  • Hole Punch

Directions: Cut out each shamrock and hole punch each piece. Paint both sides and allow to dry. String along a single piece of string about 3′ long. I tied a knot (just a simple loopy one) at each shamrock so they wouldn’t move along the string. I then used a bit of tape to hang it on the wall. Very easy!
