Good morning! Today I’m happy to announce that our newest Storytime Craft is finally here! If you’re new to “Storytime Crafts”, it’s a series I created after my daughter asked me to make printable puppets from well-known fairy tales. It has been a huge hit here and we have had the pleasure of sitting through many little “plays” — Little Red Riding Hood & The Three Little Pigs.
I designed this set over a month ago, but with our move and busy schedule, it has taken us a while to finish it. Lorelai worked on coloring the printables little by little, and we colored and cut the last bit yesterday.
Jack and the Beanstalk was a super fun story to craft and play out. If you aren’t familiar with the story, there is a video below that you can watch first. A note about the printable – the beanstalk is tricky to color and cut out. Lorelai basically colored the entire area green, then went back with a marker to color in certain vines/leaves. I left some of the inside parts intact as it was too complicated to cut out every space. It’s not perfect, but it works! Also, the first page in the PDF is the cover page… there is no need to print that unless you want an example. In your printer settings, just select pages 2-4 to print (3 pages total). Print below and enjoy!
