{ Christmas Help! }

I know, just shoot me already. I’ve been Christmas shopping since September so that it doesn’t overload us in two months. But, I’m completely stuck when it comes to Lore’s “big” gift. You know, the gift from Santa that is the first thing she sees and makes huge google eyes and squeals over? Yeah, that one. 3 options:

Option 1: A New, Shiny Bike ~ Not this exact one, but similar, from the store (fully assembled) – not from a box. I know she’d love this one, but she already has a tricycle (that still has a lot of life in it) and a scooter! She did love the one in the store, though, so I don’t know.

Option #2 – Huge Savannah Dollhouse. She’s really into barbies and babies right now, so I know she would also love this. However, I’m skeptical that this would be something she’d play with a ton, at this age. We bought her a play kitchen last year for Christmas and it hasn’t been played with a ton. I’m worried this other “imaginative” play item will end up in the same boat as the kitchen.

Option #3iXL Learning System. Hands down, I know she’ll love this. However, there is absolutely no “wow!” factor to it. And yes, I feel that’s important in terms of the Santa gift. She’s not going to walk out into the living room Christmas morning and have her eyes light up from this little gameboy-sized toy.

So help me out – which one should we choose? They’re all not far off in price, considering the accessories we’d need to buy (helmets/pads for the bike, games for the iXL). Any other suggestions are welcome, also.

  1. Tough choices! We Abby her bike this past spring at 3.5 and she took to it right away and loves it – she can still ride her trike but I can tell she’s getting too tall for it and was even then. So I think I’m voting for the bike.
    We did the doll house last year for Christmas and she loved it, totally had the wow factor but it’s not her favorite. She does love pretend play – cooking in her kitchen, and especially playing with her stuffed animals but she’s not into the doll house that much and other than undressing/redressing Barbie isn’t into those much either.
