Candy Corn Jack-o-Lantern Craft

October 14, 2010 by Kimberly 7 Comments

My friend Katie over at Texas Tigers wrote a blog post about her kids crafting a candy corn pumpkin. I thought it was so cute and inventive that I had to let Lorelai do it, too. We did ours a bit differently since I ran out of orange construction paper. Lore was absolutely stoked about this craft. She got to munch on pure sugar, play with dried beans, and make something pretty to put on her craft shelf.

Materials: Dried split peas, black beans, candy corn, cardstock, glue.

I recommend layering a few pieces of cardstock (maybe 3) instead of just one like I did. The paper was giving under the weight of all that glue and candy.

Aww… that turned out awesome! I ended up layering card stock under ours so that I could hang them up – the construction paper was not going to hold them and my kids didn’t even go crazy on the candy corn!

Such a great idea! Did she eat as much as she glued? Looks BEAUTIFUL, tell her Gammie says she is such an artist!

[…] I’m not a huge fan of candy corn… I’ll take chocolate over pure sugar any day. =) But, Lorelai loves it, and it’s a fun Halloween/fall craft, so we went for it. This one was very simple and straight forward. Lorelai did the whole thing by herself – painted and cut it out. Fun!! Have some candy corn on hand? Do this fun Candy Corn Jack-o-Lantern. […]
