Elephant Craft with Printable

Elephant Craft for Kids

Ahh, finally back to crafting! I asked on LearnCreateLove’s Facebook Page on Friday for printable suggestions and ‘elephant’ came up. We did this one a while back for Valentines Day, but it’s only a head and doesn’t exactly scream “realistic”. So I made a new one! Lorelai was sooooo excited to get back to crafting and had fun painting this one. She was making trumpeting noises like elephants do the entire time. Directions/Printable info are at the bottom of this post.

Painting for the first time in weeks - yay!

Open Elephant Printable

Materials We Used:

  • 1 Piece of Cardstock (to print the elephant printable onto)
  • 1 Paper Background (optional – we used scrapbooking paper)
  • Paint – Grey
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes (optional)

Directions:
Print the elephant printable, linked below. Have your child paint each elephant “piece” grey, or whichever color they want. Allow to dry, then cut out each piece and assemble. I glued down the body first, then glued the ears to the head, then the head to the body. The legs were last. I glued two of the legs underneath of the body (it was still wet, so I could lift it a little) and then the remaining two on top. Don’t forget the eyes, trunk, and tail!

Lorelai actually did all of the gluing on this craft and had so much fun. More fun printables to come. For now, go ahead and do this one:
