While researching animals of Mexico, the coyote is one that came up that we hadn’t crafted yet. Since we are currently learning about Mexico in our Around the World series, I thought it would be the perfect time to learn about and craft a coyote.
Fun Facts About Coyotes:
- Coyotes are mammals.
- Their populations are growing, and they now live almost everywhere in North America, and also in Mexico.
- Coyotes eat a big variety of food: mice, voles, rabbits, insects, fish, frogs, snakes, lizards, grasses, nuts, and even dead animals.
- Adult coyotes weigh between 20 and 50 pounds.
- The name ‘coyote’ comes from the Aztec word ‘coyotl’.
- Coyotes are very smart and cunning.
