{ Paper Plate Maraca }

Painting the plates with her new paintbrushes!

I wanted to do a couple of crafts for Cinco de Mayo, which is coming up next week, and what better craft than a maraca? Paper plates probably aren’t the ideal medium for exactness, but we didn’t have any styrofoam/plastic cups on hand so we made do with the plates.

The directions are pretty clear cut – just paint the bottoms of two paper plates, allow to dry, add beans and glue together. Regular craft/school glue will work as long as you get every fold on the edge and allow it to dry completely before shaking. I added a layer of tape around the outside to be safe, but would have chosen staples if I had been able to find my stapler. 🙂

Testing it out... it works!
