{ Lesson Funny }

Last night in a last ditch attempt to keep Lore occupied so that M and I could get some stuff done, we pulled out the block box from the closet. She played by herself for a good 20 minutes and then was begging M to go build a tower with her.

He went over, sat down, and started making mini towers. He then grabbed a few smaller blocks and told Lorelai to “bowl” them down by throwing them at the towers. Do you see where I’m going with this? I told him it was a bad idea and that she would get it in her head that throwing blocks is okay. He pretty much told me to be quiet, that it was just fun.

About an hour later, he was sitting on the couch when a little block when sailing past his head. I couldn’t keep the ‘I told you so’ grin off of my face.

Moral of the story? If you bend the rules even a bit, kids will catch on. And with toddlers, bending a rule pretty much means snapping it in half and giggling while it dissipates into nothingness.

Oh, and he did feel guilty for landing her in time out. =P
