4-Leaf Clover Suncatcher

4-Leaf Clover Suncatcher

I just glued around the outside of the clover window and put the wax paper on top.

Glue in the window part, then tissue paper!

I’ve been wanting to make this one for weeks! Lorelai was sooo excited when she found out we were making another suncatcher for the window. =)

Open Clover Sun-Catcher Printable

What We Used:

  • 2 Pieces of Cardstock (to print on)
  • Pairing Knife
  • Scissors
  • Wax Paper
  • Green Tissue Paper
  • Green Crayons/Paint (optional)
  • Glue

Glue-Down Layers:

  1. 1 prepared cardstock sheet, watermark up
  2. 1 piece of wax paper
  3. tissue paper
  4. 1 piece of wax paper
  5. 1 prepared cardstock sheet, watermark up

Directions:

  1. Print out TWO sheets of the clover printable.
  2. Cut out the INSIDES of the clovers. You can use scissors, but I definitely recommend using a sharp pairing knife (or an Exacto). Trust me, it’s SO much easier that way.
  3. Have your child color or paint (optional). Lorelai wanted to color, so that’s the route we took. =)
  4. Cut two pieces of wax paper, a little smaller than the sheet of paper. This is only going to show through the “window”/clovers.
  5. You need to look at the two clover sheets. I put a little watermark thing in the bottom left corner. Lay ONE clover sheet down with the watermark facing up. You’re going to glue one piece of wax paper down. I just outlined the clover with glue (shown above).
  6. Now it’s time to cut out your tissue paper. I just chose squares since they are the easiest. Just fold the tissue paper and cut out once. If you do individual pieces, it will take a while.
  7. On top of the wax paper you just glued down, add more glue in the clover ‘window’. You need to cover the entire opening with glue and tissue paper. (shown)
  8. Once the entire clover is covered in tissue paper, glue down the other piece of wax paper on top in a similar fashion as the first piece.
  9. Last, you’re going to glue down the top sheet. Make sure the watermark is facing up and on the bottom left so that all of the edges line up correctly.
