Sponge hearts are sooooo easy to make. In fact, making shapes out of sponges is so easy and makes for a fun little project for your little one. We made sponge fish a while back that Lorelai really enjoyed. She was thrilled to bits the other day when I cut out these hearts. Unforuntely, because of a cold this past weekend, we didn’t get around to doing any art projects. She was happy to do these today, though! A little bit ago, I came across a post by Jamie from Hands On As We Grow ~ they did sponge hearts, too. Great minds think alike. =)
So What You Need ~

  • A Sponge
  • Marker (optional)
  • A sharp knife or scissors
  • Glitter (optional)

What To Do ~

  • Draw a heart or two on your sponge.
  • Cut them out!
  • Dip into paint and press onto paper.

See? Instructions weren’t even necessary, but they are there just in case. =) I hope you get around to doing some heart sponges, your little one will love them!

When you’re finished with that, don’t throw away your leftover paint! Do a cute handprint heart! Check out my cute valentine display card craft with the same handprint!
