{ Felt Board }

We have this huge eye-sore in the corner of our bedroom – an old entertainment center. It doesn’t even have a TV on it! We are getting ready to toss it, but instead of throwing it all away, I decided to re-purpose one of the shelves into a felt board for Lore to play with. I’ve had this idea in the back of my head for a while now, but never got around to actually doing it. Bored and inspired, I hunted down the glue gun that I bought last year and never opened. It was my second time using a glue gun… ever. The first was in Home Ec class in middle school. So, it’s been a while.

I’m now sporting a blister on my middle finger from my labor of love, but I got done what I wanted to get done, and Lore is going to have fun putting shapes together with this thing.

(I know, I should have just stapled the felt down, but I was using old cheap board that would probably splinter. Plus, we don’t have a staple gun!)

Also, the felt is dark enough that the glue lines aren’t even noticeable. You can only see them here because I was using my blaring on-camera flash and was shooting from the side (hubby was playing his video game and I had to maneuver around him)… so it created shadows. Not too shabby for a 30 minute job!

I just cut a bunch of random shapes out. I had to do a hexagon because it’s her favorite shape (insert eyeroll here). There’s a story behind that, but I’m not getting into it now.

Goodnight!
