A while back, I put up a printable paper dresses so that my little fashion designer could decorate and “design” dresses when we play Dress Shop. It hit me last week that I should make a Dress Shop Pretend Play Set! Pretending to be a dress designer is Lorelai’s #1 favorite activity right now, and this craft was definitely a HIT!
The first part of this set is the Order Form. It’s a colorful form with dress styles, decorations and accessories to be chosen from, and name/order time sections. (See photos above)
The second part is the place where you actually design the dress. The Dress Shop owner will design the dress based on the options the “shopper” chose on the order form. These sheets are meant to be laminated or stuck in clear plastic sheet protectors and written/designed with colorful dry-erase markers. You could always just laminate the order form and have your child use plain paper to color their dresses with crayons or markers. I’m sure Lorelai will want to continue going that route. =)
