Valentine Love Bug Craft: Butterfly

January 28, 2011 by Kimberly 1 Comment

Love bug… so cute!

One more craft for today. We had some leftover heart “leaves” and I wanted to get rid of them. Of course Lorelai was right on board. Even after we finished this one she was asking to do more “prafts”, lol!

Materials We Used:

  • 2 pieces of construction paper (pink & black)
  • 1 piece of cardstock (you can use construction paper also – this is a light craft)
  • Tissue Paper for the hearts (optional: can decorate with regular paper hearts, etc.)
  • Pink Pipe Cleaner
  • 2 Red PomPoms
  • 2 Googly Eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Directions: Cut out the butterfly’s body & wings. The wings should be shaped like hearts since this is a love bug! Glue down the wings first onto a piece of cardstock (or construction paper), then the body on top. We had leftover tissue paper hearts from the tree craft, so Lorelai added hearts to the wings to make this little guy a true love bug. 🙂 Glue down eyes, antennas, and the pompom ends. Voila, a love bug that was so easy to make!

Inspiration came from here.
