Dyeing Pasta

Rubbing Alcohol & Food Coloring

Mix & Let Sit

I’ve been wanting to dye some pasta for crafts for a while now. I tried to do 5 different colors but only green and red stuck, and the red wasn’t that vibrant. The green dyed perfectly! I’ll post the craft we did in a bit!

What You’ll Need:

  • Zip Lock Baggies
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Food Coloring
  • Pasta

What To Do:
In a zip lock baggie, pour the amount of pasta you want to use. Add 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol and 15-20 drops of food coloring. Remove air from the bag and seal. Shake gently until the pasta is covered. You can let this sit for however long; the longer, the more vibrant. Lay out on a paper towel-covered cookie sheet to dry.

Also, any food coloring and alcohol mixture can be saved and reused! I didn’t save mine because there wasn’t a lot leftover.
