Facts About Numbats

  • Numbats are marsupials (pouched animal) that live in Western Australia.
  • Numbats are an endangered and very rare.
  • Numbats eat termites. They have a long, sticky tongue that they stick down into termite tunnels. They can eat up to 20,000 termites in one day!
  • They have reddish brown fur and stripes. They are also known as the ‘banded anteater’.
