Homemade Bagel Bird Feeder

110

Cold, gray, winter afternoons, with intermittent snow flurries, call for simple crafts. Making homemade bird feeders is one of those easy crafts that only take a few minutes to do. Lore is 5 years-old and did this one all on her own while her little cousin and grandparents were taking a nap. We hung them in a tree in the back yard. (We did this one last year with our playgroup – see post.)

What You’ll Need:

  • Bagel
  • Peanut Butter
  • Bird Seed
  • Pipe Cleaner (or string)

What To Do:

  • Spread peanut butter on both sides of the bagel. (You can split in half so that you will have two bird feeders).
  • Dip in seeds until completely covered.
  • Once finished, push a pipe cleaner through the center hole and hang on a tree branch.

Other Options: toilet paper roll, pine cone, thick bread slice, etc.
