All credit of this craft goes straight to Lorelai. We used some new plastic cups as paint cups this morning and she said, “Mommy! We can make noise-makers with these. Just put some rice in the middle and decorate it! Just like in Barney.” With that kind of enthusiasm, I couldn’t say no. =) This was very simple and needs minimal materials. We did some maracas recently – paper roll maracas. They turned out really cute. But, there’s something to be said for using clear cups. I wish I’d been awake enough to dye the rice first so that it would be more colorful, but this works.
Materials We Used:
- 2 plastic cups (I used small, clear ones)
- Rice
- Packing Tape
- Stickers to decorate (optional)
What We Did:
- Fill one cup halfway with rice or dried beans.
- Lay the other cup on top and tape securely, as shown in the photo above.
- Decorate!
See? VERY easy!! Enjoy!
