{ 10 Craft Supplies We Can’t Live Without }

Slow morning and I feel like rambling a bit. 🙂 Here are the supplies we use on a daily basis:

#1: Paint, and lots of it. Tempera paint is used in most of our crafts. It’s fun on nonconstructive and constructive crafts alike. (For less mess, use cups like these.)

#2: Cardstock Paper. It’s a bit thicker than normal printer/construction paper, and it’s heavy duty enough to withstand large globs of paint. We use it in every paper craft we do! (Tip: It’s right next to the printer paper in the paper aisle of department stores!)

#3: Scissors. This is pretty obvious, but a good set of scissors can make the world of difference with cutting times when it comes to crafting.

#4: Glue. Again, pretty obvious. Glue is a must have!

#5: Paper Plates. These are so versatile in the world of crafts. Animal shapes, masks, shakers, etc. They are just fun!

#6: Construction Paper. For when painting cardstock takes too long. =) Construction paper makes life so much easier (and cleaner).

#7: Crayons. Once more, pretty obvious. 🙂

#8: Tissue Paper. Click & Click… Tissue paper rocks. Enough said. (For those living under rocks, tissue paper can be found in the gifting aisle next to the gift bags/wrapping paper.)

#9: Printer. I went so long without a fully working printer and I don’t know how I did it. For US, we need a printer so that we can do all of the printables that come with our crafts. 🙂

#10: Glitter. Holy hell of a mess. I freaking hate glitter, but it really is necessary. My 3-year-old loves the stuff. She lights up like it’s Christmas morning every time I pull it out of our craft box.

So that’s my top ten craft supplies that we can’t live without. I didn’t put a lot of thought into the order so no rants about how construction paper and printer should be higher on the list. Not that my 1089 unique visitors so far this month are saying much in terms of comments. Sad face.

  1. Ah, paint won’t ruin anything. 🙂 It comes right off of most things. They make these little cups to hold the paint that have a special top that makes them spill proof. When the paintbrush is brought up and out by the child, the excess paint is taken off. I always forget to use our tops though.

    And yes, I do the majority of our cutting. Lorelai knows how to use scissors, but for the more constructive crafts we do, it’s easier and faster for me to do it. I try to keep the time from start to finish under 20 minutes. It’s hard for a 3-year-old to sit still, LOL.

  2. Also, most tempera paint is washable, but they also have specific “washable” ones you can buy.

    The crayola “craft” paint is also washable.
